UP Dalit girl taken to Rajasthan for marriage, raped by 3

PILIBHIT: A 17-year-old Dalit girl from Pilibhit was allegedly gang-raped by a man known to her and his two friends. The crime took place on Dec 31, when the girl was taken to a temple at Sikar in Rajasthan by the main accused who lured her there with the promise of marriage. All the accused, who are from Bareilly, thereafter raped her. They also filmed the crime to blackmail her.
The matter came to light on Friday after an FIR was filed. The accused will be arrested soon, SHO Ajay Kumar said on Saturday.
The FIR mentioned the girl came to know the main accused on Instagram and became “friends”. He tried to elope with her for “marriage” and asked her to reach a bus stand in Bareilly on Dec 31. “Trusting him”, she left with “some jewellery and Rs 18,000 cash”. Once there, she met his two friends. In Rajasthan, she claimed that she was repeatedly violated by the three men at a rented place.
