Teacher killed in Narail

The headteacher of a primary school was killed in Narail’s Lohagara upazila early Monday.
The victim was Sabita Rani Bala, 55, a resident of Chardaulatpur village under Etna union of the upazila. She was the headteacher of Chardaulatpur Govt Primary School.
The victim’s husband Paritosh Kumar said that he and his wife were sleeping in separate rooms at night. Paritosh woke up around 3:30 am to perform puja and went to open the door but find it was locked from outside. Then he went to his wife’s room and found that his wife had been killed.
When he screamed, the neighbors came and unlocked the door from outside and entered the house. Later, Paritosh and the neighbors came out to find that miscreants had entered the house by cutting a Sindh (digging the soil to a house for stealing) and killed his wife.
He also alleged that the miscreants took a gold chain, two bangles, a ring, a pair of earrings and a laptop from his house.
Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ashikur Rahman said police quickly went to the spot and recovered the body on information around 4:15 am. Cloth was stuffed in the mouth of the body. She may have been strangled to death. The body was sent to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
