Lawyer killed in Moulvibazar

A lawyer of Moulvibazar District Judge’s Court was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in the district town on Sunday night.
The deceased, Sujan Mia, 38, was a resident of Purba Hilalpur village in the municipality area.
Locals said some 5-6 miscreants stabbed him in front of a building near the District Judge’s Court at around 11:30pm and left the scene immediately.
Confirming the incident, Minhazur Rahman, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station, said the reason behind his murder could not be known yet.
The body has been sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. An investigation into the incident is underway and legal action will be taken accordingly, the OC said.
SAM Habibullah, a lawyer of Moulvibazar District Bar Association, said, “We demand identification and arrest of the killers immediately.”
