A 26-year-old man has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl and a 22-year-old woman with speech and hearing disabilities in Narsingdi.
The accused, Awlad Hossain, remains at large after the allegations came to light yesterday.
The victims’ families filed a written complaint with Madhabdi Police Station last night, and police registered a case this morning.
According to the case statement, the alleged assaults took place on Monday afternoon in Boroderkandi village of Madhabdi. Police said Awlad Hossain allegedly lured the 13-year-old girl to his house by offering her money and raped her. He then allegedly used the girl to lure the 22-year-old woman with speech and hearing disabilities to his house, where he also raped her.
Mohammad Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Madhabdi Police Station, said police launched an investigation immediately after receiving the complaint.
“The victims’ statements are being recorded, medical examinations are underway, and legal proceedings have been initiated. However, the accused, Awlad, remains at large following the alleged assaults. Police are trying to arrest him,” the OC added.
