CHRISTIAN WHO REFUSED TO RENOUNCE FAITH BEATEN INTO COMA, CHHATTISGARH
October 17, 2020
Jetel admitted in the hospital
God has called us in His righteousness to pray for the dying souls around us. Many are oundering in darkness and choose to remain blind to the love of Christ.
Galatians 6:12, “Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.” This well describes the condition of the one who are pursuing darkness and practicing symbolic and religious idolatry since their glory is in the perishing esh, while we as children of God have been born again, as stated in 1 Peter 1:23, “since you have been born again—not of perishable seed but of imperishable—through the living and enduring word of God.”
Jetel, a beloved brother in Christ, living in a village at Jagdalpur district of Chattisgarh state, has been incriminated for his faith in Jesus Christ. He had been receiving many warnings and threatening to recant his faith, and adopt his
older ways when he was a Hindu. A mob of around 25-30 people went to his home, verbally abused and threatened him to forsake Christ.
The incident happened around 4pm in the evening on Oct 6, 2020. Jetel’s unwavering faith didn’t please the fanatics and they started kicking and beating him, until he collapsed. He was taken to the closest government hospital
by the CRPF, and was hospitalized for three days. He tried to register his case to the police station; however, police is slow to act as they seem to be suppressing the case as a support to the fanatics. Aren’t we a secular country and free to choose and practice our faith? Why is then the judiciary and police so slow to act on his case?
Persecution Relief have contacted Jetel when they got to know that the village had ve more families who have accepted Christ. When enquired why the mob attacked him and not the other believers, Jetel replied, “The believers gather in
my home during worship and prayer services. Church pastor or elders visit my house regularly to pray.”
The religious fanatics have attacked Jaithal as a step towards breaking down the faith of other believers in the village and inculcate a spirit of fear in them.
However, Jetel and the believers stand on the unchangeable promise of God as written in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I amyour God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my
righteous right hand”.
Dear Church of the Living God, raise your voices in monochord for Jaithal and his family.
Pray for the protection and comfort of Lord Jesus Christ upon Jetel and family. Pray for an expedited physical and emotional healing for Jetel. Pray that Jetel and his household and every other believer in his village increases in their faith and do not turn back to their former ways. Pray that God convicts the religious fanatics and reveal Himself to them through unimaginable personal encounters so that each fanatic be saved.
Pray that every perishing soul in Chhattisgarh are freed from the lies and deception of the enemy and can taste the love of Christ. Let each one of us be the light that shines through the darkness and enable the lost ones to be reconciled with God’s unfathomable love. As we do so, let’s continue to pray for the persecutors standing rm on His commands as laid down in Romans 12:14, “Invoke blessings on your persecutors—blessings, not curses.”
