A 9-year-old Dalit girl was raped in Rajasthan on Saturday, February 10. Dalit community is now raising its voice against this incident. The Dalit community has demanded that the victim’s family be compensated and one of its members be given a government job.
Mahapanchayat of Dalit community:
In fact, a 9-year-old girl from Dalit community was raped on Saturday, February 10, in a village in Shri Mahaveerji police station area of Karauli district of Rajasthan. A Mahapanchayat of Dalit community was held on Monday, 12th February, in protest against the incident. In this Panchayat, the Dalit community demanded that a compensation of Rs 50 lakh should be given to the victim’s family and a government job should be given to one member of the family.

As soon as the police officers came to know about this Mahapanchayat, SDM Sukharam Pindel, DSP Pravendra Singh Mahala and Shri Mahavirji police station in-charge Chanchal Sharma also reached the spot. The officials talked to the people participating in the protest and listened carefully to their demands. After this the delegation submitted a memorandum regarding the demand to the Governor.
Demand for the victim:
Maharaj Singh and Ram Sahay, associated with the delegation, told about the demands raised by the Dalit community in which the rape victim should be admitted to class sixth in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. After completing her education, the victim should get a government job. The victim’s family should get a compensation of Rs 50 lakh. The accused of rape should get death sentence. The villagers also said that time has been given till February 20 for all these demands.
