Teenager dies after knife attack at Khulna Eid fair

A teenager, who was critically injured in a knife attack at an Eid fair, died while undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital early today.
The deceased has been identified as Palash, 18, a resident of Motleb Mor in Khulna.
The attack took place last night at an Eid fair in Jatisangha Shishu Park in Khulna, where a group of assailants attacked Palash with sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured.
Hospital sources said Palash was brought to the emergency unit around 9:00pm last night. Due to the severity of his wounds, doctors performed emergency surgery on his abdomen. However, he died around 8:15am today.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Hawlader Sanowar Hossain Masum of Khulna Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter and said, “Police conducted raids throughout the night in different areas to arrest those involved, but no one has been detained or arrested yet. After completing all legal formalities, the body will be handed over to his family.”
According to police, Palash had a dispute with a rival group over a trivial matter at the fair last Saturday night. The next evening, he was allegedly ambushed and stabbed in the abdomen in a targeted attack.
