Dalit farmers allege that Samajwadi Party leader Wahid Qureshi has forcibly occupied their land. If the farmers are to be believed, SP leader Wahid Qureshi has links with terrorists and by spreading terror, he has forcibly occupied the land of many people of the village.
Farmer Rakesh Kumar, who was protesting outside the SP office, told IANS, “I am a resident of Salempur. SP leaders from Amethi want to grab the land of farmers, so they want to send us to jail so that they can capture our land. Today we are protesting demanding action against SP leader Wahid Qureshi. Our only demand from Akhilesh Yadav is that he should expel the goons from his party and give us justice. Land of about two dozen people has been captured in the village.”
At the same time, the protesting woman Poonam said that the SP leader has occupied our land. I am a poor woman and now that the land has been occupied, what will I do? I will appeal to Akhilesh Yadav to get justice for all the families.
