MP: Dalit girl gangraped in Bhind, accused burnt her house when she refused to settle the case

The Dalit family has also accused the police of colluding with the accused.

Madhya Pradesh: A case of gang rape of a Dalit girl came to light in Bhind district on Friday. It is alleged that the accused along with a dozen people came to the victim’s house and also pressured her to compromise outside the court. When the victim refused to compromise, the accused burnt her house.
According to media reports , a dozen people reached the house of the Dalit victim outside the court to reach a compromise. When the family did not agree, the gangrape accused surrounded two members of the family and beat them with sticks. When they were not satisfied even with this, they broke the household items and set the victim’s hut on fire, in which two members of the family got burnt.
After the incident, both the injured were sent to the nearest hospital for treatment, where due to their critical condition, they had to be referred to Bhind District Hospital. Senior police officers who reached the spot have started investigating the case. However, the Dalit family has also accused the police of colluding with the accused.
According to the victim Dalit family, the people who attacked the family include Hakim Gurjar, Jaiveer Gurjar, Brajraj Gurjar, Gulli Gurjar, the relatives of the accused Soni Gurjar and Dharmendra Gurjar respectively. The victim family says that 8 to 10 people were involved in the attack on the family, who beat the victim’s father badly with sticks and then set their hut on fire.
The victim’s family has accused the police of taking money from the accused. They say that the police did not come even after giving information on phone about the fire in the house. The injured said that the police who brought the injured to the district hospital have forbidden them from saying anything. On the matter, the police constable says that he does not know what incident has happened.
