Dominant contractor in Barabanki accused of caste based abuses and threatening to kill Dalit councilor

In Uttar Pradesh, complaining about the illegal work of a domineering contractor proved costly for the Dalit councilor of Nawabganj Municipal Council. The domineering contractor abused the Dalit councilor in the municipal premises itself and even threatened to kill him. After the incident, the councilors filed a case against the accused contractor.
Use of substandard material in construction work:
Actually this whole matter is of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. In the complaint given to the city police station, victim Anand Vihar Board member Shekhar Valmiki said in his statement that the contractor Ram Pravesh Verma had constructed drains and roads in his ward with non-standard material and substandard material was used in this construction work. Had been. Therefore, the victim complained to the municipal authorities and got the construction work stopped. Due to this, the accused contractor Ram Pravesh Verma got angry and started abusing the victim with caste based abuses.
Councilor’s statement:
The councilor said in his statement that, “On Monday evening itself, contractor Ram Pravesh Verma reached the Municipal Council, abusing his mother and sister and pressurizing him to withdraw the complaint and give an apology, and if he did not do so, he would be killed.” Started threatening to put it. Meanwhile, seeing the commotion, some other councilors and employees gathered there and the contractor threatened and ran away.”
Written complaint to the inspector in charge:
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the councilors immediately informed the Municipality President about the matter and under the leadership of Councilors Association President Sushil Gupta , Pankaj Mishra, Devendra Pratap Singh “Gyanu”, Taj Baba Rain, Alok Verma, Sanjay Jaiswal, Rohit Singh, Krishna Gopal (child), Sadiq Hussain, Brijesh Yadav, Ashwini Sharma (Shiva), Tamra Dhwaja Nand, Shivkumar etc. reached the police station along with Shekhar Valmiki and gave a written complaint to Inspector-in-charge Ajay Kumar Tripathi.
Case registered in Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST):
On the complaint of victim councilor Shekhar Balmiki, the city police station registered a case against the accused contractor Ram Pravesh Verma late on Monday night under sections of IPC 504, 506 and SC/ST Act. City Kotwal Ajay Kumar Tripathi said that on the complaint of the councilor, a case has been registered against the contractor of the city council and the matter is being investigated.
